GROUND HOG DAY

I don't know what the sky in your area looks like but it's at least partly sunny where I live. That means the furry little creatures are supposed to get scared of their shadows and head back underground to hibernate for another six weeks. Yeah right! Actually, if spring began in the middle of March that wouldn't be too bad of a deal.

In reality, Spring has already Sprung! If you review your copy of Aldo Leopold's SAND COUNTY ALMANAC you'll find that many creatures actually starting getting friendly with one another in late January and early February. The hormones are flowing and biological processes are beginning. Some birds are beginning to head North (to join those poor Robins in my area who decided to winter in balmy Ringle).

So think positively.....thing Spring! Only don't go outside on Sunday. It's not supposed to get above ZERO all day!
